General Record Research Versus Individual Record Research
Join us on Saturday, September 2nd for General Record Research versus Individual Record Research. This special presentation by the Palm Springs Genealogical Society will feature guest speaker Ken Lewis and will be followed by round-table sharing. This FREE program will be from 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in The Learning Center (TLC).Ken Lewis is a third generation Californian having been born in Needles and raised in Barstow. He served 27 years in the Army, serving the majority of his service overseas. He retired to Moreno Valley because of its proximity to March AFB.
Ken began doing family history research and genealogy in 1976 while living in Germany. Due to his living overseas, he was able to visit many of the home villages of both himself and his wife.
After retiring back home to California he met others interested in his hobby and formed the Moreno Valley Genealogical Society. Ken was originally the 2nd President of the Society, however, he is considered the first as the original president stepped down after a month, leaving Ken to carry on. Ken served 11 years as President until he had to step down due to a medical condition. He has continued on in other capacities within the organization and is currently the Vice President again. Ken presently does very little on his own genealogy, but assists others in getting started in the hobby, and often does research for people and assists others who often face problems with one of their lines.
