Behind the Scenes

with Manny the Movie Guy

Manny the Movie Guy

Join us on Wednesday, June 19 for the lecture Behind the Scenes with Manny the Movie Guy. Learn what it takes to be a film critic in today’s entertainment industry. Hear what goes into interviewing celebrities and more! The program will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in The Learning Center (TLC).

Manny the Movie Guy has always had a passion for movies. He started his love for film criticism working for his school newspaper at Purdue University. Upon graduation, he was offered a full-scholarship to complete his Post-Baccalaureate degree in Film at the School of the Arts Institute in Chicago. Currently, he is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) where he votes for the yearly Critics Choice Awards. He is an Emmy-award winning film critic based in Palm Springs, California and reports on radio, in newspapers, and on TV. You can see Manny’s movie reviews and celebrity interviews on KMIR Today every Friday, KMIR Midday, and on KMIR News PM. He is also on The Filipino Channel on Balitang America every Friday at 5:30 p.m. Manny can also be heard on MIX 100.5 with Bradley Ryan in the Morning every Friday at 8 a.m.

When not running around in Hollywood, Manny enjoys relaxing at home with his babies—Nemo, Tony, Tia, (all terrier mixes), Twinkle, and Dory the kitty cat. Manny loves calling the Coachella Valley his home. Follow Manny on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram!
