Point-In-Time Homeless Count
The Point-In-Time Homeless Street Count is an effort to learn more about the individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Riverside County and throughout the entire country. In order to accomplish local and federal goals toward ending homelessness, we first need to know who is experiencing homelessness, where they are, and better understand the factors surrounding their housing crisis.
Volunteers are needed Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to survey individuals experiencing homelessness in Palm Springs, so they can be provided with programs and services that will best fit their needs. No prior experience with the Homeless Count is needed!
Volunteer training sessions will be offered prior to the Count.
On the day of the count, a brief orientation will be hosted at 6:00a.m. Then, volunteers will be sent-out to their assigned location by 6:30 a.m. to begin the Homeless Count. Volunteers will be divided into groups of 3 people for each assignment. Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation to assigned area.
