Welwood Murray Memorial Library Kicks Off the Renovation!

Welwood-Kickoff
Library Trustees and Palm Springs Officials—including Library Director Jeannie Kays (in yellow) and Mayor Steve Pougnet (to her left)—celebrate the Welwood Murray Construction Kickoff on May 6, 2014.

On May 6, 2014 the city celebrated an important milestone with the beginning of the renovation of the Welwood Murray Memorial Library on the corner of Tahquitz Canyon Way and Palm Canyon Drive. This project is funded, in part, with Measure J funds and is an important aspect of the revitalization of downtown Palm Springs.

The Welwood Murray Memorial Library has played an important role in the history of Palm Springs as well as other local institutions such as the Palm Springs Historical Society and the Palm Springs Art Museum. We look forward to the Welwood Murray Memorial Library opening its doors again to serve the public.
