A good initial mailing list can be acquired from a local title company. What you will receive is the name and mailing addresses of the property owners in your neighborhood.

What you won’t always receive is the local address for each residence or business in your neighborhood, as many property owners are absentee. It’s a good idea to check through the list and make sure that you mail to both the property owner’s address and the local address, to ensure that renters or commercial tenants are included in your mailing.

As time goes by you can update your mailing list through meeting sign-in sheets and door-to-door canvassing to verify addresses and occupant names. Start collecting email addresses, phone numbers and other information through meeting sign-in sheets and door-to-door canvassing. If you have a volunteer who is willing to manage the mailing list and is skilled in Microsoft Excel or Access or other data management software you should sing their praises, ply them with treats and keep them happy at all costs.
