Curb lane (#2 Lane) will be CLOSED during times posted above for construction of missing portions of sidewalk. Traffic will be reduced to one lane (#1 Lane) for duration of construction.

NW CORNER ARENAS RD & CALLE ENCILIA

November 6 - 30, 2017 - 7:00am-4:00pm

Reconstruction of SCE vault at intersection by SCE contractors. Traffic will be tapered to one south bound lane on Calle Encilia from the intersection of Tahquitz and Calle Encilia to and through the intersection at Arenas.  North Bound Traffic on Calle Encilia will have minimal restrictions with zero restrictions on Arenas, East and West.

September 26 - December 15, 2017 - 7:00am-4:00pm

Addition of new gas laterals on South Palm Canyon. Inside eastbound
and northbound Lane to be CLOSED with traffic control and
NO PARKING as required. Traffic will be diverted to center lane
during construction. Contractor to notify surrounding residents
as needed to shut off gas periodically during construction.

Motorists can make trips a little safer by remembering the following work zone safety tips.

  • Do not speed in work zones; obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers; drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts, and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be Patient and SLOW DOWN in construction zones!
