With Jenny GIl Schmitz

Join us on Wednesday, March 6th for a lecture about Desert X presented by Jenny Gil Schmitz, Executive Director of the Desert Exhibition of Art. Learn the story of this ground-breaking art show and hear about this year’s artists and installations. The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. in The Learning Center (TLC).

DX 19 (Desert X 2019) will be from February 9-April 21, 2019 throughout the Coachella Valley and includes renowned artists from Latin America, the Middle East, Europe and North America. With the inaugural exhibit in 2017, this unique, self-guided exhibit has expanded with additional events and a docent guided option.

Jenny GilJenny Gil is the Desert X Executive Director. Prior to her position as Director of Exhibitions at Faena Art, Miami, Jenny Gil, now based in Palm Springs, was Executive Director of the International Committee of Contemporary and Modern Art Museums (CIMAM) in Barcelona, Spain. From 2008 to 2015, she was Founder and Director of Ninetofive, a contemporary art production bureau in Barcelona. Gil has contributed to international art publications, including Cahiers du Cinéma (Madrid), La Vanguardia (Barcelona), Papers d’Art (Girona) and Arte al Dia (Miami).









Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact Marcus Fuller, ADA Coordinator, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
