Return to Main Calendar

It's Showtime at Your Library:

Opera—An Introduction

with Gerald Salomon

Join us on Wednesday, June 26 for the lecture Opera—An Introduction with opera aficionado Gerald Salomon. You'll be introduced to rare and once very hard to find operatic selections now widely available via YouTube. The lecture will consist of several examples of performances of some of the greatest operatic artists in recorded history. The program will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in The Learning Center (TLC).

Gerald Salomon received a BS in Liberal Arts from the University of Cincinnati and has been an avid opera fan and collector of opera for many years. He lived in New York for several years and was fortunate to see many of the world's greatest singers live in both opera and recital. He also teaches an “Opera For All” class for the Learning In Retirement (LIR) program in Palm Desert.

Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact Marcus Fuller, ADA Coordinator, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
