The City of Palm Springs is excited to invite all residents and stakeholders to the annual “State of the City” address with Mayor Robert Moon on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the historic Plaza Theatre, presented by the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.
The always much anticipated presentation kicks off at 6 p.m. at the historic Plaza Theatre in downtown Palm Springs, 128 S. Palm Canyon Drive. The State of the City is being held at the City-owned theatre this year to highlight the importance of the City’s restoration efforts and the need to preserve the theatre’s iconic 1930s architecture and design. The Plaza Theatre was formerly the home of the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies and also hosted the 1936 world premiere of the Greta Garbo film “Camille.” For more information about the restoration project and sponsorship details, visit www.savetheplazatheatreps.com.
In addition, the audience will have the opportunity to see a new video featuring Mayor pro tem Geoff Kors and Councilmembers Lisa Middleton, Christy Holstege and J.R. Roberts, which highlights their unified vision for economic development, public safety, tourism, business retention, city neighborhoods and much more. As always, FREE seats to the State of the City will be available for members of the public.
