A unique experience for theater lovers, the play explores a generational and moral divide in the age of the Internet and brings into question what we have come to accept as morally acceptable, personally and publicly. The public is invited to attend this play reading and give feedback to the actors and Artistic Director for the Desert Ensemble Theater Company. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. in The Learning Center at the Palm Springs Public Library.

Desert Ensemble Theatre Company (DETC)

DETC was founded in 2011 as a small repertory company committed to allowing theatre artists to participate fully in the realization of their creative vision both on and offstage. DETC produces innovative plays that underscore the complexity of human interaction. The company spent its first two years at the Annenberg Theater at the PS Art Museum, and in 2013 took up residence at the Pearl McManus Theatre at the Palm Springs Woman’s Club. Since its inception, DETC has been honored with 37 Desert Theatre League Awards in all major categories.

DETC's theatre training program provides high school theatre interns with on-the-job experience in technical theatre. They are mentored closely by our company directors, designers and technical experts. At the end of the season, graduating seniors in our internship program are eligible for scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 based on their number of internship hours over one or more seasons and their internship performance. Since 2011, DETC has awarded more than $13,000 in scholarships.
