Author Lecture: Mod Mirage

Presented by local historian Melissa Riche, discussing her book and the midcentury communities and glorious homes of Rancho Mirage. The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. in The Learning Center.

Melissa RicheMelissa Riche is a writer, researcher and local historian, author of the book ‘Mod Mirage’ (pub. Gibbs Smith, 2018). She is also the founder and president of local nonprofit group ‘Preservation Mirage’. She has written articles for the Desert Sun, as well as Atomic Ranch magazine and other media outlets and gives regular talks on the history of her adopted city, Rancho Mirage. Melissa also researches and writes historic site and district nominations for homeowners and communities in the valley. She and her photographer husband Jim Riche live at the historic Tamarisk Ranchos neighborhood (1958, Krisel) in Rancho Mirage.
