Read on the Edge with the Morning Coffee Book Club. This month's book is House Made of Dawn by N. Scott Momaday. The meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Cornelia White Community Room at the Welwood Murray Memorial Library in downtown Palm Springs.
The Morning Coffee Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at the Welwood Murray Memorial Library and is open to everyone. —The magnificent Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of a stranger in his native land
A young Native American, Abel has come home from a foreign war to find himself caught between two worlds. The first is the world of his father's, wedding him to the rhythm of the seasons, the harsh beauty of the land, and the ancient rites and traditions of his people. But the other world—modern, industrial America—pulls at Abel, demanding his loyalty, claiming his soul, goading him into a destructive, compulsive cycle of dissipation and disgust. And the young man, torn in two, descends into hell.
Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact the ADA Coordinator, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
