This event will be in the Cornelia White Community Room at the Welwood Murray Memorial Library in downtown Palm Springs.</p><p scxw207607812="" bcx2"=""><strong>Jack Fitzsimmons </strong>is a lifelong gardener and self-confessed science geek. A childhood misadventure with a wasp’s nest led him to investigate what insects do other than cause pain. He is a graduate of the UCR’s Climate Steward Program and the Pollinator Steward Certification program through the Pollinator Partnership. This afternoon, he is representing The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, an international nonprofit that protects insects and other invertebrates, and their habitats, through science-based conservation, advocacy, and public education, focusing on pollinators.&nbsp;<br><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong></strong></p><hr><p>Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are instruments designed to amplify sounds to make it easier for persons who are hearing‑impaired to enjoy a library program.</p><p>Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Palm Springs, should contact the <a href="https://www.palmspringsca.gov/government/city-clerk/ada-services" target="_blank">ADA Coordinator</a>, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.</p>
