Sunrise-Vista Chino Neighborhood Coalition
Another neighborhood organization received City recognition as an official member of the Office of Neighborhood Involvement Committee. As the newest member of PSNIC, the Sunrise-Vista Chino Neighborhood Coalition, includes the HOAs of Ranch Club, Sagewood, and Sunrise Racquet Club, with Desert Aids Project recently joining with them.
These HOAs joined together about five years ago to address mutual neighborhood concerns. The group decided to apply to the City for official recognition which was granted at the July 12, 2007 PSNIC meeting. An Advisory Council governs the Coalition, all with the approval of each respective HOA's Board of Directors. Several of the Advisory Council, as well as other neighbors, often appear at City Council meetings and speak to issues of concern to them. "PSNIC provides an excellent vehicle for citizen involvement and citizen empowerment," states Ms. Auburn, Chair of the Coalition's Advisory Council.
This Coalition hopes to grow its membership to include the area's single-family homes as well as the commercial enterprises at the corner of Sunrise Way and Vista-Chino.
