The City of Palm Springs is informing registered voters that the Ballot Drop-Off locations in the City are now open for the upcoming Special Statewide Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
On the ballot is Proposition 50, a measure that, if approved, would temporarily suspend California’s current congressional district boundaries and authorize the creation of a new congressional district map for use in the 2026 through 2030 elections.
All active registered California voters, including residents, will be mailed a Vote by Mail ballot beginning Oct. 6, 2025. The last day to register to vote for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election is October 20, 2025. Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 11, 2025.
Voters have multiple options to return their ballot:
- By mail via the U.S. Postal Service.
- At any participating Vote by Mail Ballot Drop Box location.
- At any Vote Center location in Riverside County.
Important Voting Reminder for Palm Springs Voters:
State officials are urging voters to mail their ballots early and avoid waiting until Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to drop them in a USPS mailbox.
Due to U.S. Postal Service processing delays in certain areas, including Palm Springs, ballots mailed on November 4 may not be postmarked in time to be counted, warned Attorney General Rob Bonta and Secretary of State Shirley Weber in a news release.
