City of Palm Springs Kicks Off Black History Month with Flag Raising Ceremony

The City of Palm Springs is excited to announce the official Black History Month kickoff with a special Flag Raising Ceremony.

  • What: Black History Month Flag Raising Ceremony
  • When: Saturday, January 31, 2026,  2:00 - 2:15 p.m.
  • Where: Palm Springs City Hall, 3200 E Tahquitz Canyon Way

Mayor Naomi Soto together with members of the Palm Springs Black History Committee, City Council and City leadership will raise the City’s Black History Month Flag to honor the significance of the month and to celebrate the invaluable contributions of African Americans in Palm Springs.

“This flag raising marks a meaningful moment as we come together to honor the rich history, culture, and legacy of our African American community,” said Mayor Naomi Soto.
