
Motorists and residents in downtown Palm Springs should plan ahead for significant street closures and traffic impacts on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7 for the 28th annual Tour de Palm Springs. The popular cycling and walking event will bring thousands of participants to the area and requires multiple road closures for rider safety and event operations.
Primary Street Closures and Traffic Impacts
- South Palm Canyon Drive will be closed to all vehicle traffic from Baristo Road to Tahquitz Canyon Way beginning Friday, February 6 at 6:00 a.m. through Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m.
- Arenas Road will be closed on both the east and west sides of Palm Canyon Drive for event setup.
- Tahquitz Canyon Way will be closed Saturday morning starting at 5:00 a.m. from Palm Canyon Drive to Indian Canyon Drive to allow for rider departures.
- Indian Canyon Drive northbound traffic will be reduced to one vehicle lane, with one additional lane dedicated to riders traveling northbound.

Event
The Tour de Palm Springs will host its annual expo and ride in downtown Palm Springs, with event hours as follows:
- Friday, February 6: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday, February 7: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Riders will begin departing on Saturday at 6:30 a.m., with the final group of walkers departing at 10:00 a.m.
