The City of Palm Springs is now accepting applications from residents, business owners, and students interested in serving on the City’s Boards and Commissions. The application period is open from March 1, 2026, through April 30, 2026, and appointments will be made in June 2026. These vital positions provide an opportunity for community members to play a role in shaping the future of Palm Springs by participating in the decision-making process on key City issues.
The City is seeking individuals to fill vacancies on the following Boards and Commissions:
Administrative Appeals Board • Palm Springs International Airport Commission • Architectural Review Committee • Historic Site Preservation Board • Human Rights Commission • Library Board of Trustees • Measure “J” Oversight Commission • Parks & Recreation Commission • Public Arts Commission • Sustainability Commission • VillageFest Board
Please feel free to apply for multiple boards you are interested in serving on. Applications will be kept on file and considered for any unscheduled vacancies through April 2027.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for appointment:
- Must reside, work, or attend school within the City of Palm Springs.
- Applicants cannot be current employees of the City of Palm Springs or have a pending application for employment with the City.
The ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for their community and have a strong background, education, and experience that will help them contribute to the work of the Board and Commission. The City values diverse representation, and seeks candidates who reflect the social, ethnic, and cultural diversity of Palm Springs.
