The Plaza Theatre, Palm Springs' historic 700-seat downtown venue managed by Oak View Group (OVG), has surpassed its annual programming goal of 120 events in just four months since reopening its doors on December 1, 2025; a landmark achievement for the newly revitalized cultural institution and the City of Palm Springs.

In 121 days, the Plaza Theatre has welcomed sold-out national touring acts, established a thriving home for local arts organizations, and drawn audiences from around the world to downtown Palm Springs. The iconic theatre is projected to generate $40M in annual economic impact and $4M in annual tax benefit to the City of Palm Springs.

“Achieving the Plaza Theatre’s goal of 120 events a year in just 4 months is truly phenomenal. I commend the local OVG team in Palm Springs and the entire Plaza Theatre Board of Directors for what they have been able to accomplish since opening December 1 with Cynthia Erivo.” — Greg O’Dell, President, Venue Management, Oak View Group

“Our small, but mighty team has been working around the clock. I commend their tremendous dedication and efforts in creating a new entertainment destination in Southern California.” — John Bolton, SVP & General Manager, OVG / Plaza Theatre

Bolton also credited the venue’s national event promoter partners as central to the theatre’s rapid programming success, with special recognition for Gehrig Peterson of Media Consultants of Chicago.

“120 events in 121 days wouldn’t be possible without our national event promoters led by our #1 event promoter Gehrig Peterson with Media Consultants of Chicago. The success of the theatre and the amazing variety of events wouldn’t have been possible without his help, support, and friendship.” — John Bolton, SVP & General Manager, OVG / Plaza Theatre
