Caltrans to Perform Nighttime Roadway Improvement Work on Highway 111
Caltrans will perform nighttime roadway improvement work along Highway 111 (Vista Chino and Gene Autry Trail) in the City of Palm Springs as part of the SR 111 Roadway Project. Work is scheduled nightly beginning Monday, May 11 through Thursday morning, May 14, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Crews will conduct diamond grinding operations to improve roadway smoothness and driving conditions. This work will require temporary closures of the No. 1 lane in segments of approximately two miles at a time.
Scheduled Work Locations:
- May 11: Northbound Highway 111 from Mesquite Road to Escena Way
- May 12: Northbound Highway 111 from near E. Tachevah Drive to near N. Hermosa Drive
- May 13: Southbound Highway 111 from N. Volturno Road to District Center Drive, and southbound Highway 111 at the intersection of N. Palm Canyon Drive and West Gateway Drive
- May 14: Southbound Highway 111 from N. Volturno Road to District Center Drive
Motorists are advised to expect delays, reduce speed in work zones, and follow all posted signage and directions from construction personnel.
