The City of Palm Springs Sustainability Commission held a February 2018 Modernism Week session on Green Building resources for home renovation entitled "Modernism and Sustainability".

The indoor/outdoor lifestyle we enjoy in Palm Springs requires a quality indoor environment. That starts with clever design. This one-hour panel consisted of Deric Schmidt, of the local chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, Dominique Hargreaves, of the US Green Building Council, Troy Bankord, landscape and interior designer, and David Freedman from the Palm Springs Sustainability Commission. This group of experts discussed how to balance a ‘mod’ style, imaginative new uses and cutting-edge materials to achieve a world-class sustainable environment.
