On April 4, 2018, the Palm Springs City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1953 establishing Chapter 2.60 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code related to Public Integrity.

Specifically, the ordinance created the obligation for all elected officials and members of the City's Boards and Commissions to disclose his/her interests when serving as a voting member of a board of directors of a non-profit entity without compensation, as an attorney or accountant for such an entity who provides pro bono services, or as the trustee of a charitable trust. These officials shall also disclose each and all of his/her rented or leased interests in real property located in the City of Palm Springs, including leases executed with the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians in relation to real property that is owned. In addition, officials must update their Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) on a semi-annual basis, only if there is a material change.

Disclosure statements must be filed by the first business day of the month of April. In the event that any official experiences a material change of interest after filing the annual disclosure statement, the official in question shall file a semi-annual amendment. Regular filing dates are:

  • Assuming Office: Due within 30 days of oath of office.
    • Period Covered: 12 months preceding appointment.
  • Annual Statement: Due on or before the first business day of the month of April.
    • Period Covered: Preceding calendar year (January 1-December 31st).
  • Semi-Annual Statement: Due on or before July 31, only if there is a material change.
    • Period covered: January 1 through June 30.

Redacted disclosure statements will be posted online and unredacted versions of these documents may be inspected and duplicated in the Office of the City Clerk.
