CV LINK: PALM SPRINGS
Project Hotline: 1-833-4CV-LINK (428-5465)
Following the successful installation of the first segment of CV Link in 2018, the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) has begun building the next phase which will add nearly 20 miles to CV Link throughout the valley.
CV Link provides access for pedestrians, bicyclist, and low-speed neighborhood electric vehicles (like golf carts) on a paved pathway throughout the Coachella Valley. Bicycling and walking are popular in the valley, this project will provide more opportunities for enjoyment of these healthy lifestyle activities. It also connects many of the valley’s parks, public spaces, and attractions, without having to use a car.
CVAG’s contractor, Ames Construction, has already started construction in other parts of the valley and anticipates building new segments in Palm Springs in April and continuing throughout 2022.
There are two main segments being built in the City.
CV Link – Palm Springs North
The first one is called Palms Springs North, which generally runs on top of the Whitewater River levee, starting at Vista Chino and ending at the historic Palm Springs Visitor’s Center.
CV Link – Palm Springs South
The second one is called Palm Spring South and it generally runs along Tahquitz Creek connecting Palm Canyon Drive to Demuth Park using a combination of existing bike lanes and new construction. On Lawrence Crossley Rd, the sidewalk will be widened to create a connection between an existing bike path north of the golf driving range and set up for future connection points that will be built in Cathedral City.
