The Palm Springs Fire Department has been proudly serving the citizens and visitors of Palm Springs since 1931. There is nothing more important to the Palm Springs Fire Department than the community we serve.
The Palm Springs Fire Department serves the community in the following ways; Emergency Response, Community Risk Reduction, Emergency Management and Community Involvement.
Emergency Response includes: fire suppression, Paramedic emergency medical response, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), hazardous materials response, swift water rescue, low angle rescue, trench rescue, confined space rescue and vehicle extrication.
Community Risk Reduction includes: fire and life safety code enforcement, building plans check and arson investigation.
Emergency Management includes: identify and planning for community hazards, coordination of response and recovery from catastrophic emergencies and major disasters, identifying mitigation opportunities and grant management.
Community Involvement includes: Administering a Fire Explorer Program, delivering Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), disaster preparedness training, school youth programs and fire extinguisher training.
