*****MAJOR I-10 ROAD CONSTRUCTION 2020-2022***** 

FEBRUARY 2020 -DECEMBER 2022

CALTRANS I-10 PAVEMENT REHAB BTW BEAUMONT & SR 111

 $215.9 million pavement preservation project will replace and improve 133.3 lane miles of Interstate 10 from Pennsylvania Avenue in the city of Beaumont to State Route 111 Junction near the town of Whitewater in Riverside County. This project was allocated $215.9 million, $18.2 million in funding was due to SB 1.

Caltrans  will begin the #I10TuneUp Pavement Rehabilitation project on February 3, 2020. This project will in include replacing various concrete road slabs in Lanes 1 & 2 and repaving lanes 3 & 4 as well as upgrading all ON & OFF RAMPS.

Work will begin in the center median from 7:00PM - 6:00 AM on 2/3/2020 will removal of vegetation, guardrail, and restriping of lanes on both EASTBOUND and WESTBOUND sides of the I-10. During the hours of 6:00 AM - 5:00PM work will continue in center media for potholing and inlet protection.

*****RIVERSIDE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL***** 

OCT. 15, 2019 - MARCH 31, 2020

**** PALM CANYON WASH SEDIMENT REMOVAL****

Removal of sediment and debris from Palm Canyon Wash that accumulated during the February 14, 2019 winter storm is scheduled to begin on Oct. 15. This sediment removal will restore the capacity of the wash for future storms and reduce the flood risk to the adjacent communities.

Work will take approximately six months to complete and will be limited to weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Increased truck traffic can be anticipated on E. Palm Canyon Drive for the duration of the project, with an estimated 200 dump truck loads each day being removed from the site as per the following schedule and haul routes.

2/3/20 - 3/1/20: Trucks will be accessing E Palm Canyon Drive from ARABY DRIVE and will be traveling west to Sunrise Way, north on Sunrise Way, west on Ramon Road, south on S Palm Canyon drive to Elan Development (777 S Palm Canyon Drive) and return on S Palm Canyon Drive to E Palm Canyon Drive to Araby Drive and south to the Palm Canyon Wash

*****MAJOR SR-60 ROAD CONSTRUCTION 2019-2021***** 

 JULY 26, 2019 - JULY 2021

1/31/20 - 2/3/20: 55 HOUR ROAD/RAMP CLOSURE LIST

 Pavement rehabilitation and bridge replacement project on SR 60 btw I-15 and I-215/I-91.

The “60 Swarm” will begin on Friday, July 26. Caltrans has two projects in construction on State Route 60, one for paving and the other for the replacement of three bridges between State Route 71 and the 60/91/215 Junction at an estimated cost of $170 Million. The paving project will require fifteen (15) consecutive weekends (except for Labor Day) of full directional closures on SR 60 from I-15 to 60/91/215 Jct. (12 miles).

All lanes and ramps will be closed during the work from Fridays at 10:00 p.m. to Mondays at 5:00 a.m.

Partner transportation agencies have projects that correlate with Caltrans projects that also affect motorists.

Motorists can make trips a little safer by remembering the following work zone safety tips.

  • Do not speed in work zones; obey the posted speed limits.

  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

  • Watch for workers; drive with caution.

  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

  • Avoid using mobile phones while driving in work zones.

  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

  • Anticipate lane shifts, and merge when directed to do so.

  • Be Patient and SLOW DOWN in construction zones!
