**** TAHQUITZ CANYON WAY AT INDIAN CANYON DRIVE****

WESTBOUND (WB) curb lane and parking lane will be closed on Tahquitz Canyon Way near Indian Canyon Drive. Tribal Landscape contractor will cut and remove palm tree cluster on Tribal property. Palm trees are infected with Borer Beetle and have  significant damage.  Damage is to the point that the tree structure has been compromised and could be a safety issue. WB lane will be open after construction hours, but parking lane may still be closed for Thursday work.

Installation of water service for the Agua Caliente Cultural Center. One NB lane on INDIAN CANYON DRIVE will be closed and one will be open alternating in conjunction with the work performed. All lanes will be open after work hours. Road will be repaved and restriped no later than two weeks after completion of work.

*****RIVERSIDE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL***** 

OCT. 15, 2019 - MARCH 31, 2020

**** PALM CANYON WASH SEDIMENT REMOVAL****

Removal of sediment and debris from Palm Canyon Wash that accumulated during the February 14, 2019 winter storm is scheduled to begin on Oct. 15. This sediment removal will restore the capacity of the wash for future storms and reduce the flood risk to the adjacent communities.

Work will take approximately six months to complete and will be limited to weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Increased truck traffic can be anticipated on E. Palm Canyon Drive for the duration of the project, with an estimated 200 dump truck loads each day being removed from the site as per the following schedule and haul routes.

11/4-19 - 01/30/20 Trucks will be accessing E Palm Canyon Drive from Araby Drive/Escoba Drive and will be traveling east to Gene Autry (Hwy 111), north on Gene Autry Trail to Interstate 10.

  *****INCREASED DUMP TRUCK TRAFFIC - EXPECT DELAYS OR USE ALT ROUTES **** 

   

*****MAJOR SR-60 ROAD CONSTRUCTION 2019-2021***** 

 JULY 26, 2019 - JULY 2021

 Pavement rehabilitation and bridge replacement project on SR 60 btw I-15 and I-215/I-91.

The “60 Swarm” will begin on Friday, July 26. Caltrans has two projects in construction on State Route 60, one for paving and the other for the replacement of three bridges between State Route 71 and the 60/91/215 Junction at an estimated cost of $170 Million. The paving project will require fifteen (15) consecutive weekends (except for Labor Day) of full directional closures on SR 60 from I-15 to 60/91/215 Jct. (12 miles).

All lanes and ramps will be closed during the work from Fridays at 10:00 p.m. to Mondays at 5:00 a.m.

Partner transportation agencies have projects that correlate with Caltrans projects that also affect motorists.

Motorists can make trips a little safer by remembering the following work zone safety tips.

  • Do not speed in work zones; obey the posted speed limits.

  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

  • Watch for workers; drive with caution.

  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

  • Avoid using mobile phones while driving in work zones.

  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

  • Anticipate lane shifts, and merge when directed to do so.

  • Be Patient and SLOW DOWN in construction zones!
