Herman Weissker in conjunction with SCE will be installing a restraint system on an existing SCE vault on Indian Canyon Drive at Vista Chino, north side of the intersection. The closure will be the SOUTHBOUND left turn lane and the adjoining Number 1 lane heading south on Indian at Vista Chino. All work should be completed by the end of day.

Herman Weissker will be removing and replacing an existing SCE Utility Vault on Ramon Rd between Calle El Segundo and Calle Encilia, north side of Ramon. This work will begin this coming Monday the 28th of October and end Friday 11-15-19 per the schedule they provided me with. The west bound curb side lane will be closed through the duration of the project with “K” Rail and fencing in place for security during all hours of construction.

OCT. 15, 2019 - JANUARY 16, 2020
Removal of sediment and debris from Palm Canyon Wash that accumulated during the February 14, 2019 winter storm is scheduled to begin on Oct. 15. This sediment removal will restore the capacity of the wash for future storms and reduce the flood risk to the adjacent communities.
Work will take approximately six months to complete and will be limited to weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Increased truck traffic can be anticipated on E. Palm Canyon Drive for the duration of the project, with an estimated 200 dump truck loads each day being removed from the site as per the following schedule and haul routes.
10/15/19 -11/3/19 Trucks will be accessing E Palm Canyon Drive from Araby Drive/Escoba Drive and will be traveling east into Cathedral City.
11/4-19 - 01/16/20 Trucks will be accessing E Palm Canyon Drive from Araby Drive/Escoba Drive and will be traveling east to Gene Autry (Hwy 111), north on Gene Autry Trail to Vista Chino (Hwy 111), north on Indian Canyon to Granite pit.

Jacobsson Engineering will be installing two sewer laterals in conjunction with the Augua Caliente Cultural Center within Indian Canyon Drive. DURING CONSTRUCTION HOURS ONLY, 2 north bound lanes will be closed on Indian Canyon Drive between with the traffic control taper beginning on Indian Canyon just south of Tahquitz. Jacobsson will have these closures in place only during working hours with all lanes open at the end of the day. The lane closures will alternate as the crews progress across Indian Canyon however there will be two lanes open to traffic at all times heading north.

*****MAJOR SR-60 ROAD CONSTRUCTION 2019-2021*****

The “60 Swarm” will begin on Friday, July 26. Caltrans has two projects in construction on State Route 60, one for paving and the other for the replacement of three bridges between State Route 71 and the 60/91/215 Junction at an estimated cost of $170 Million. The paving project will require fifteen (15) consecutive weekends (except for Labor Day) of full directional closures on SR 60 from I-15 to 60/91/215 Jct. (12 miles).
All lanes and ramps will be closed during the work from Fridays at 10:00 p.m. to Mondays at 5:00 a.m.
Partner transportation agencies have projects that correlate with Caltrans projects that also affect motorists.

Maintenance and Operations workers risk their lives every day working on open freeways, highways, and local roads and are true unsung heroes of transportation.The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones. Motorists can make trips a little safer by remembering the following work zone safety tips.
Do not speed in work zones; obey the posted speed limits.
Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
Watch for workers; drive with caution.
Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
Avoid using mobile phones while driving in work zones.
Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
Anticipate lane shifts, and merge when directed to do so.
Be Patient and SLOW DOWN in construction zones!
